Invisalign Clear Aligners in Springfield, IL
Many of our patients would like a straight, beautiful smile, but hesitate because traditional braces do not appeal to them or fit well into their lifestyles. At Ruggless Dental, we completely understand that having convenient options for orthodontics is important to our patients.
Dr. Shane Ruggless, DMD wanted a solution that offered our patients an alternative, but still provided outstanding results for comfort, function, and esthetics. That is why we proudly offer Invisalign in Springfield as an alternative to traditional orthodontics.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign clear braces utilize clear, plastic aligner trays to gradually move your teeth into better alignment. We will plan your treatment and your goals for your smile. Next, we will take impressions of your teeth and send them, along with your detailed treatment plan, necessary digital x-rays, and digital diagnostic photographs to our Invisalign lab where they will create your aligner trays.
Usually, we recommend that you wear your aligner trays for approximately two weeks before moving on to the next series of aligner trays. They are removable, and wearing them for at least 22 hours per day will help your treatment stay on track. You can remove your Invisalign to eat, drink hot beverages, and to clean your teeth.
We will schedule regular exams in our Springfield, IL dentist office to monitor your treatment and make sure you stay on track.
Benefits of Invisalign
Because Invisalign trays are clear, most people will never know that you are wearing them. You can keep your treatment discreet and wearing your trays will not affect your speech.
Comfort is a big concern for many of our patients. Invisalign allows you to undergo orthodontic treatment without the discomfort of brackets that can make your cheek lining sore. Invisalign uses constant low-force pressure to move your teeth into alignment and most people will never notice you are wearing them.
Removable trays mean it is easier to take care of your teeth. You can brush and floss normally without the need for special flossers.
A properly aligned smile is healthier! When your teeth are in proper alignment, they are easier to care for and it is possible to make more esthetic and precise dental restorations. You can avoid dental decay and periodontal disease caused my misaligned teeth.
Treatment with Invisalign & Caring for Your Aligners
Your treatment time depends on how far we need to move your teeth and how many teeth are involved in treatment. An orthodontic evaluation with Dr. Ruggless will help him determine treatment time.
As with all orthodontics, wearing a retainer is essential to maintaining your smile. Without retainer use, your teeth will naturally drift and cause an orthodontic relapse. We will create a retainer for you once your treatment is complete!
