Not Your Grandmothers Dentures!

Dentures | Ruggless Dental

When people think of dentures, it often comes with a negative connotation, or an image of your grandmother adjusting or removing her dentures. However, when dentures are fitted properly, they can actually be extremely comfortable and effective, without anyone knowing that you are wearing them! In fact, one of the most popular choices for dentures today is to have implant-supported dentures, which are a more stable choice.

Implant Supported Dentures

Normal dentures are simply fitted inserts that you place in your mouth with some adhesive to hold them in place while you go about your normal life. However, ill-fitting dentures can be a serious problem. Not only can they cause discomfort, but they can even cause damage to your jaw over time if they don't fit properly, or if you are constantly removing them due to discomfort or a poor fit.

One option for better fitting and more comfortable dentures is to have them supported by dental implants. This procedure is more affordable than having your entire set of teeth replaced with implants, but provides a higher level of comfort than dentures alone. We will custom-fit your dentures and will attach them using dental implants, which will hold the dentures in place at all times. This means you don't have to worry about adhesives that don't hold or dentures that move around when you are eating.

Because implant supported dentures will stay in the proper position at all times, you won't have to worry about the bone damage that can occur from dentures that don't fit, or not wearing your dentures at all. Probably the biggest benefit, however, is that your dentures will stay in place while you eat, and you can use them just as you would use your natural teeth.
